Autumn/Winter 2014 Wishlist!

Within the space of about a day, I have been converted to A/W dressing again. Already I'm looking at chunky boots, duster coats and fur collars. And I. Want. Everything! So obviously I've had to put together a little wish list that I will probably end up treating my self too. Oh dear...

A/W wishlist - Tartan by erinjainex

Topshop Joni Jeans, £42

Everyone has heard of Topshop's Joni jeans by now - super soft, high waisted jeans that generally look lovely. They've been updated for A/W with slashes to the knees which I'm a total sucker for. I think this will definitely be one I end up buying!

New Look Black Platform Cleated Sole Boots, £34.99

These have technically been available for a few months already but they definitely don't have a summer vibe! I absolutely live for chunky black boots and I love these so much. They remind me of Jeffrey Campbells without the giant price tag!

Charlotte Olympia Naughty/Nice Clutch, £825

Erm... so this somehow creeped into my wish list! Doing my usual Selfridges browsing, I spotted this amazing Charlotte Olympia bag. I fell in the love with the perspex box bag trend when it first came around so to see it updated for A/W is great. The other side of the little fabric purse inside says 'Nice' so you can flip it to suit your mood!

Topshop Slouchy Lilac Boyfriend Coat, £89

I feel bad adding this to my wish list as it's already almost sold out but I love it sooo much. Apparently the pastel coat trend is coming back hard this season (woo I can get out the pink coat again) and I love love love this slouchy version.

Topshop Tee Dress, £42

And finally, a tee dress that definitely should not cost this much money! I love tee shirt dresses so when I saw this I quickly fell in love. I doubt I'll be buying this one as the price seems a bit ridiculous to match - but when New Look or Primark release their version I'll be straight there! 

The Day I Bought A Hat

So, if you read my holiday wish list you'll know that I was a teensy bit (okay a lot) obsessed by a big black floppy hat from Topshop. Well, er, I bought it.

If possible, I now love it even more. The only problem with it is that it's actually slightly too big for my head (and I thought I had a massive head) so when it's windy there is the whole literally hold on to your hat situation. Either way I love it and I actually think it looks nicer now I've re-ombred my hair! I know that this is going to be my summer staple that will be coming with me everywhere I go.

Budget Holiday Wishlist!

So this morning me and my boyfriend finally - FINALLY - managed to book our holiday for July! I could not be more excited and despite promises to myself to not go mental buying a holiday wardrobe there are obviously a few bits and pieces I should pick up.. right?! I've been trawling the web to find some bargains and I thought I'd share them with you.

1. Missguided White Cover Up Mini Dress, £5.99

I literally cannot believe this is only £5.99! Perfect little cover up dress for throwing on at the beach or on a daytime walk. Yes, it's probably a tiny bit see through but what you need it for I don't think it really matters - and for £5.99 you wouldn't expect it to be much else. Style it like above or with flip-flops, a big tote beach bag and a long simple necklace.

2. ASOS Caged Moulded Bikini Top, £18

I absolutely love these kind of bikini tops, I think they look so amazing! The best bit about buying a black or white version about this is that you can team it with any normal bottoms - the bottoms on ASOS to match were £12 but they'd look equally as good with a normal pair of black bottoms. The only obvious thing that slightly worries me is tan lines?! Ah well, I'll figure it out.

3. Dorothy Perkins Yellow Strap Sandals, £9

Another bargain here. Just very basic leather look strap sandals that you can stick into your bag and go with pretty much every outfit. These are available in almost every colour as well - I definitely love this yellow pair but I'll probably be sensible and get white or black!

4. ASOS Matte Retro Sunglasses, £12

Although the high street everywhere has new fancy styles of sunglasses, I'm a classic girl. I love this kind of 'retro' shape where the frame doesn't actually go all the way around! I have relented to this style being a bit more modern with the coloured lenses - they've got a reflected metallic coating on them which apart from looking awesome, apparently give off minimal glare. (But they look good which is the main nice thing). 

5. Topshop Black Floppy Hat, £28

This is the one piece that I know isn't really budget - almost £30 on a hat is a bit extreme. But I seriously love this hat so much that I'm a bit concerned about myself. Large floppy hats are always popular in summer anyway but to be honest, have always been favoured by elderly women. The floppy straw hat has been given a modern felt/wool update, which works with both normal and beach outfits.

I know that I'll probably be picking all of these up for my holiday - have you found any great holiday buys lately? 

Depop Beauty and Clothing Sale!

Topshop Nail Polish in 'Keen' Review

Now that we've actually had some days that resemble summer, we can all well and truly start cracking out the pastel colours in everything we wear. This is a nail polish I actually picked up a few weeks ago but almost felt silly wearing because the weather was so miserable! Anyone else get like that? No? Just me? Oh... Either way now is the perfect time to start wearing colours like this.

As ever you get the adorable polkadot spotted top which I love - I think Topshop makeup has such cute packaging that doesn't look cheap considering it's a clothing store's own brand. The polish itself, Keen, is a lovely minty green - almost verging on a duck egg kind of colour but definitely more on the green side than blue. As with most Topshop nail polishes this needs two coats to get an even opaque colour, and applies really nicely - not streaky at all. I do recommend a top coat over the top of this because on me Topshop polishes do chip a lot!

Overall it's a lovely spring colour that makes a nice change from just a pastel pink or blue. I like that mint green doesn't really go with many things either - when you wear it against a colour like lilac or yellow it really 'pops' and makes a statement!

Topshop Matte Nails in Milk And Honey Review!

I'm in love! After having acrylic nails put on for my dad's wedding, I got a bit bored of the french manicure and decided to treat my nails to some new polish. Wandering in Topshop, I saw this beauty! I absolutely love all things matte - and having matte white just seemed like such a clean, lovely idea. My nails above are with 2 coats which is absolutely opaque - the consistency is thick without being gloopy and has a good drying time. After a few days wear I have zero chips (but my nails never chip when they're fake!) and the matte effect is only slightly wearing off around the edges. I love the way this looks with spring outfits too - whether you're wearing pastel or brights the pop of white looks so nice against it. I just want to use the words 'clean' and 'polished' repeatedly when talking about this! I think I've found a new favourite..

Erm, so I may have gone a bit overboard with the pastel trend. But working in retail means I'm seeing all the amazing colours coming in, and getting to style them on mannequins in everything I want to dress in myself.

Although pastel isn't really a new trend for Spring, the different thing for this year is clashing them. Don't just pick one, pick a few! I particularly love this mint with lilac combination, and the lemon socks would be so cute poking out of the top of these boots - keep the boots a bit sturdier to toughen up the look. I've also included this cute jewelled collar top (in the sale!) to put on under the dress - just a sweet little touch that adds extra depth to the outfit.

What do you think to the pastel trend? For someone who normally wears black with an extra helping of black, I'm getting suckered in.. big time!

My Nail Polish Collection

If you asked me what my makeup must haves would be, nail polish doesn't come anywhere near the top 5. Or 10. It comes bottom of the list - my nails aren't that nice so I don't paint them as I feel it only highlights them! I prefer fake nails if I want them to look nice - however, I've still somehow managed to build quite a little collection. If you fancy a nosy, read on!

The Pink Coat.

Is it just me or has the world gone pink coat crazy? Annoyingly I don't have the money to splurge on a new coat but nothing has stopped me searching and trying on. Mostly in an oversized boyfriend fit but in fluffy pink pastel, its the perfect girly androgynous mixture. Damn you, pink coat. You're perfect.

15 Christmas Gifts Under £15!

Seeing as my last Christmas post was 5 stocking fillers under £5, I thought I'd go the extra mile and do 15 gifts under £15 this time! Manchester haul!

So I've been away for a few days enjoying city life in Manchester! I'm planning to move there in a month or two as it's one of my favourite places to be, so me and my boyfriend have been trying to go up for a day or two every so often to get a good feel or the place and know it a bit more. I wasn't actually planning on spending much money this time, but the Arndale centre got the better of me!
